Information
Annual herb, 0.3–1 m tall, slightly pubescent with glands and short hairs. Leaves long-petiolate; blade ovate to almost elliptic, up to 10–70 × 6–40 mm, apex acuminate, base cuneate, margin crenate. Inflorescence lax, with many rather lax floral branches, sometimes arising even from the base of the plant; bracts minute. Fruiting calyx c. 3 mm long. Corolla white or pink, 1.5–2.5 mm long. Nutlets subspherical, c. 0.55 × 0.5 mm, producing mucilage when wet.
Range
C2; S1–3 widespread in tropical Africa, Asia and Australia.
Altitude range
40–170 m.
