Information
Shrub or small tree to c. 3.5 m tall; bark whitish-brown; branches greenish-brown with lenticels not visible at first, then greyish-white or greyish-purple. Leaves petiolate; blade (5.5–)7–22.6 x (2–)3.4–7.8(–8.4) cm, obovate to oblanceolate, obtuse to rounded and sometimes apiculate or mucronate at apex, cuneate at base, leathery, margins serrate to serrulate, with main nerve and lateral nerves about equally prominent and the densely reticulate tertiary venation more prominent above; petiole 1.5–8 mm. Flowers several, in ± lax panicles on short lateral shoots; pedicels 1.5–3 cm in fruit, articulated about 1/4th the distance from the base. Sepals 9–11(–13) mm at flowering, elliptic to elliptic-oblong, rounded, enlarging to 12–14 mm in fruit. Petals yellow, 10–17(–22) x 7–13(–19) mm, obovate or subcircular. Stamens with anthers 4–7 mm long, 3–5 times as long as the filaments, dehiscing by apical pores. Carpels (6–)8–10; styles connate almost to apex. Drupelets 8–9(–10) x 6–8 mm.
