Notes
Robson recorded this species from Congo (Kinshasa), Shaba [Katanga] but Bamps (F.C.B., Ochnaceae: 8 (1967)) refers the specimens concerned to O. puberula Robson. All the Tanzanian material seen has been completely glabrous. Two further specimens which I think may belong to O. afzelioides extend the distribution to K 2 and T 7 – Newbould 7172, Kenya, Turkana District, Muruanysigar, 16 Feb. 1965 at 2100 m and D.W. Thomas 3922, Tanzania, Iringa District, Mwanihana Forest Reserve, above Sanje, 10 Oct. 1984 at 1400–1700 m. Both these have very acutely acuminate leaves.
