Information
Herb or subshrub; stems up to 40 cm long, tomentellous when young, prostrate or ascending. Leaf-blades oblanceolate-spathulate to suborbicular, 1–3 x 0.5–1.5 cm including up to 1.2 cm long petiole, cuneate at the base, subacute to rounded at the apex, white tomentellous on both surfaces. Inflorescences along prostrate stems or near base of plant, aggregated into subspherical heads c. 1.5–3 cm in diam.; sterile bracts subulate; fertile bracts c. 7 x 1.3 mm, spine-tipped. Upper part of calyx c. 6 mm long with acute teeth, lower part c. 5 mm long, calyx in fruit c. 9 mm long. Corolla c. 9 mm long; tube c. 3 mm long. Capsule c. 7–8 x 3 x 1 mm.
