Information
annual, erect, much-branched; leaves on short petioles, linear-oblong, obtuse, cuneate at base, crenate; stipules pungent; peduncles short, 2–4 bracteate, generally 2-flowered; petals entire. A much-branched, hairy annual, with narrower leaves, shorter petioles and peduncles, and smaller flowers than M. ovata.
Range
It is found also in Abyssinia.
Distribution
SOUTH AFRICA Dry hills of the Eastern and N. Eastern districts; Caffraria and Port Natal. (Herb. T.C.D., Hook., Sond.)
