Information
Tree up to 10 m. in height; young branches, petioles, pedicels and flower-buds with dense ferrugineous indumentum. Petioles up to 3 cm. long. Leaf-lamina elliptic-oblong, 12–15 cm. long, 4–5 cm. wide, ± obtuse, broadly cuneate, subcoriaceous, glabrous and shiny on upper surface; primary lateral nerves ±15 each side, finely raised on both surfaces. Flowers clustered in axils of current leaves, pendulous. Sepals narrowly lanceolate, acuminate, up to 10 mm. long and 4 mm. wide. Corolla-segments linear-lanceolate, up to 7 mm. long. Filaments up to 2.5 mm. long; anthers up to 4 mm. long; staminodes narrowly lanceolate and ± equal to length of stamens, externally pilose. Ovary densely pilose, tapering into a slender style up to 1 cm. long.

Notes
Known only from a single type-specimen which may perhaps represent an extreme form of one of the more widespread species. Further gatherings from the type area possibly showing a range of flowering and fruiting material are needed in order to clarify the taxonomic standing of the species.
