Notes
VARIATION. The leaves of the East African material show a more regular arrangement of the primary lateral nerves and have a less distinctly reticulated nervation than those from Mozambique. This variation is accepted as part of a single species which may prove to be more widespread in the coastal areas than present records would indicate. The epithet of this species appears first without a description as Mimusops henriquesiana Engl. & Warb. in Bull. Soc. Étud. Colon. 10: 516 (1903) and as such has been followed by certain subsequent authors, but the spelling adopted at the place of first valid publication must be accepted.
