bulb ovoid, 1 in. diam.; leaves thin, round-cordate, 3–4 in. long and broad, densely setose on the upper surface towards the margin; capitulum dense, globose, subsessile; outer bracts oblong-lanceolate, an inch long; outer pedicels 1/3– 1/2 in. long; perianth whitish, an inch long; segments lanceolate, reflexing, half as long as the tube; filaments as long as the perianth-tube, united into a distinct cup at the base; anthers small, oblong. null
Distribution
SOUTH AFRICA without locality, Masson.
Notes
Introduced by Masson into cultivation in 1790. It has long been lost, and I am not aware that there is any specimen in existence.
