bulb ovoid, 1 in. diam.; leaves round-cordate, thin, glabrous, cuspidate, conspicuously lineate, 4–6 in. long, 3–4 in. broad; capitulum dense, sessile, 2 in. diam.; outer bracts ovate-lanceolate, an inch long; outer pedicels 1/2 in. long; perianth white, 3/4– 7/8 in. long; segments lanceolate, reflexing, about half as long as the tube; filaments bright red, 1/2 in. long; anthers oblong, minute; capsule turbinate, acutely triquetrous, an inch long. null
