Information
Spikes ovoid or short-cylindric, usually 1/2 in. wide, all subsessile or very shortly peduncled. Spikelets maturing 2–3 nuts; lowest empty glume mucronate or scarcely aristate. Nut 3/4 the length of the glume, broadly oblong; otherwise as M. sieberianus (large forms).
