Information
rays of umbel 3–5, the lowest usually 1/4–1 1/2 in. long (but sometimes 0), each bearing a dense cylindric spike of spikelets; spikelets lanceolate; nut 2/3 the length of the glume, linear oblong; otherwise as M. capensis, Schrad. null
Range
Both forms also occur in Nyasaland.
