Information
Evergreen shrub up to 3.5 m. tall with ascending and spreading branches, glabrous except for the margin of the sepals. Twigs grey, often arising at right angles. Leaves disposed along the twigs in fascicles, petiolate, simple; blade obovate-oblong to elliptic, 7–30 mm. long, 4 mm. wide, apically narrowed to an acute point, or truncately rounded and sometimes emarginate, mucronate, shiny rather dark green, with the midrib prominent beneath. Inflorescence a short corymbose raceme or the flowers 1–2 in the axils of the clustered leaves; pedicels 1.5–2.5 mm. long. Sepals 11–12 mm. long, acute, marginally puberulent; receptacle 3–4 mm. long, brown; disk with a very short free rim. Petals 1.8–3 mm. long. Stamens 17–20, 1–2 cm. long. Ovary narrowly cylindrical, glabrous. Fruits cylindrical, ± 4 cm. long, markedly torulose, green.
