Information
Shrub or small tree, sometimes scandent; young branchlets greyish pubescent. Leaf-blades obovate to oblanceolate, 2–20 x 1.5–8.2 cm, rounded to shortly acuminate at the apex, cordate at the base, ± densely and softly pubescent on both surfaces; venation reticulate, prominent; petioles 2–3(–5) mm long. Bracteole ovate, 5–9 mm long, clasping at the base, persistent. Sepals lanceolate, 10–20 x 3–5.5 mm, pubescent outside. Petals whitish or yellowish, speckled, margined or flushed with red; the outer oblanceolate-spatulate (3–)3.7–6.5 cm long, densely pubescent outside; the inner 0.7–0.9(–1.6) cm long, clawed, pilose towards the apex. Stamens c. 1 mm long. Fruit obovoid, globose or ellipsoid (4–)5–7.5 cm long, glabrous, finely rugulose.
