Information
Shrublet, up to 1 m tall, erect or scrambling; young branches usually glabrous or with lines of hairs running down from the nodes. Leaf-blades linear to lanceolate or rarely narrowly ovate, up to 1–2.5 x 0.1–0.5 cm, obtuse and apiculate at the apex, cuneate at the base, glabrous to puberulous, with revolute margins; petiole 0–1.5 mm long. Spikes with (1–)2–3 pairs of flowers; peduncle 1–2 mm long; axis c. 1 mm long; lower pair of bracts completely covering spike, suborbicular, 0.8–1.5 x 1–2 cm, rounded at the apex and with a short mucro, cordate at the base, glabrous to sparsely puberulous. Calyx 2.5–4 mm long. Corolla blue; tube c. 10 mm long; lobes 3.5–5 mm long. Capsule 6–8 mm long, 1-seeded. Seeds covered by glandular-glochidiate hairs.
