Perennial herb; stem pilose with hairs 1–2 mm long. Leaflets 9–13, oblanceolate, up to c. 5 x 0.8 cm, glabrous above, densely pilose beneath; stipules setaceous. Racemes many-flowered; pedicels up to half as long as calyx. Calyx c. 12–13 mm long, densely pilose, deeply divided. Corolla c. 18 mm long, blue with a little orange. Fruits unknown.

This interesting species has never been recollected since its discovery at the end of the 19th century.
