shrubby; branches glabrous, slightly angular when young; leaves narrowly lanceolate, sessile, scabrid on the margins, under side of the midrib and near the apex on the upper surface, glabrous elsewhere; spikes terminal, few-flowered, leafy; calyx 3 lin. long, lobed nearly to the base; lobes 2/3 lin. wide, oblong-lanceolate, ciliate, veins distinctly reticulate; corolla 6 lin. long; tube campanulate; lobes rounded, imbricate below; stamens unequal, the longest exserted. null
