Notes
In all material from Zimbabwe and Manica e Sofala the pedicels and calyces are papillose, while in material from S. Mozambique as well as from parts of Natal the pedicels are glabrous and the calyx–lobes only are ciliate. Such specimens may be difficult to distinguish from L. erinus. The narrow wings along the stem in L. fiaccida subsp. mossiana is the most reliable character. Subsp. flaccida is distributed from Transvaal to E. Cape.
