Notes
As Pichon (1953) has emphasised, this is the most widespread and variable species of Landolphia. In two areas of Central Africa, separated by equatorial forest (Pichon, op. cit., map 7), it is found in savanna habitats as a fire-resistant suffrutex less than 1 m. high. In dense forest, on the other hand, its stems can reach 100 m. in length.
