Information
stem much branched; branches brownish-purple, glaucescent, spine-tipped; leaves linear or narrowly oblanceolate, up to 7 lin. long and 1/2 lin. wide, glabrous, finely rugose when dry; flowers solitary from the centre of the fascicles of leaves; peduncles slender, 3–4 lin. long; calyx 3 1/2 lin. long, divided more than halfway into 5 oblong acute minutely ciliate lobes; corolla funnel-shaped; tube about as long as the calyx; lobes 1 1/2–2 lin. long, oblong, obtuse, spreading, minutely ciliate; stamens inserted in the corolla-throat, exserted; filaments hairy at the base, filiform; style a little longer than the stamens; fruit depressed globose, about 2 lin. in diam. null
