Erect or sprawling subshnib 0.3–2.4 m. tall. Stems bristly with tubercular-based hairs. Leaves fasciculate on reduced shoots, 10–24-foliolate; leaflets linear-spathulate, often falcate, 0.3–1 cm. long, 1–2 mm. wide, acute at the apex, cuneate at the base, ciliate and sparsely bristly with tubercular-based hairs on the main nerve beneath; basal nerves 2–4, the main one central or submarginal; petiole and rhachis together 1.2–2.2 cm. long; petiolules minute; stipules lanceolate, 0.6–1 cm. long, 3–4 mm. wide, acuminate, scarious, ciliate, glabrescent, persistent. Inflorescences axillary in upper leaves, very dense, subsessile, 1.5–2 cm. long; pedicels 2–3 mm. long; bracts ovate-triangular, 0.5–1.3 cm. long, 4–5 mm. wide, long-cuspidate or acuminate, ciliate with long hairs, with conspicuous main nerve; bracteoles free, ovate or lanceolate, falcate, 5–7 mm. long, 2–3 mm. wide, acuminate, ciliate with long hairs. Calyx ciliate, 6–7 mm. long, 2-lipped; lips oblong, the upper deeply emarginate, the lower divided for one-half to two-thirds of its length into 3 ovate acuminate lobes. Standard bluish outside, deep blue inside with yellow at the base, squarish-obovate, 0.6–1.3 cm. long, 3–4 mm. wide, glabrous; wings deep blue; keel hyaline with blue veins. Pods of 1–2 articles, each 3–4 mm. long, 2.5–4 mm. wide, pilose. Seeds chestnut, bluntly trigonous, longest dimension 2.5 mm., shorter dimension 2 mm., 1 mm. thick.
