Information
Annual herb 5–30 cm high; stems smooth, glabrous or sparsely pilose. Leaves alternate or (usually the proximal ones) opposite, sessile, 0.5–4 cm long, 0.1–0.6 cm wide, base attenuate but half-amplexicaul, margins revolute, entire or with widely spaced callous teeth to 0.6 mm long, apex acute and spinulose, sparsely hispid or glabrous. Capitula 2.5–4 mm long, solitary on filiform stalks 1–5 cm long with few bracteoles ± 1 mm long; phyllaries 2-seriate, 12–15, lanceolate, 1.5–2.5 mm long, acuminate, glabrous; receptacle flat or convex, alveolate. Florets: ray florets yellow, 8–9, tube cylindric, 0.9–1 mm long, ray 2–2.3 mm long, 1.1–1.4 mm wide, style 0.9–1 mm long, briefly bifid; central florets orange, 15–28, tube narrowly infundibuliform, 1–1.3 mm long, lobes 0.3–0.5 mm long; anthers 0.6–0.7 mm long; style 1.6–1.7 mm long, briefly bifid with penicillate tips. Achenes ellipsoid, 0.9–1.2 mm long, glabrous; pappus absent.

Notes
Though the Burundi specimens are much smaller, I believe they are the same taxon. The absence of the pappus and the few-seriate phyllaries makes this a Jeffreya rather than a Felicia .
