pubescent; branches 2–3 ft. long, slender, not virgate; leaves up to 2 by 3/4 in., elliptic, narrowed at either end; petiole 0– 2/3 in.; inflorescences terminal and axillary, short, dense, 1/2–1 by 1/2– 3/4 in., without any solitary flowers, compound; floral leaves 1/2– 2/3 in. long, lanceolate or narrowly obovate, imbricate, prominent to the top of the inflorescence; bracteoles 1/4– 1/3 in. long, linear; calyx 1/4 in. long, scarious, hardly at all green; segments linear, with many long many-celled hairs, none gland-headed; corolla 1/2 in. long. null
