corm globose, 1/2–1 in. diam., coats thick, fibrous or cancellate; produced leaf one, subbasal, long, narrow linear, firm, glabrous; stem very slender, 1–2 ft. long, simple, or with 1–3 short, erect branches; spathes cylindrical, 2–2 1/2 in. long, 1–3 flowered; valves cuspidate, scariose only at the very tip; perianth-limb 1–1 1/4 in. long, fugitive, lilac, rarely blue or reddish, outer segments with a claw nearly as long as the spreading, oblong lamina, inner linear 1/4– 1/3 in. long; column very short; ovary clavate, 1/4– 1/3 in. long; style-crests linear, 1/4– 1/2 in. long; capsule clavate, obtusely angled, 1/2 in. long. null
