Information
Climbing herb up to several m long; stems glabrous. Leaf-blades ovate, 3.5–7 x 3–6 cm, cordate at the base, acuminate at the apex, glabrous; petiole up to 12 cm long. Flowers solitary or in shortly pedunculate cymes; pedicels up to 25 mm long, becoming thickened. Sepals ovate, 4–6 mm long, with whitish margins. Corolla blue with yellowish-white throat, 5–7 cm long, funnel-shaped. Capsule ovate, compressed, c. 15 mm long, glabrous. Seeds ovoid, c. 7 mm long, black, shortly pubescent.
Range
Cultivated as an ornamental at least in N1 (Hargeysa) native of Central America, but widely grown in the tropics.
