Information
Perennial twiner; stems pubescent, rather woody, up to 3.6 m. long. Leaf-blade entire or rarely 3-lobed, ovate, 5–17 cm. long, 4–14 cm. wide, acuminate at the apex, cordate at the base, glabrous to slightly pubescent or densely velutinous; petiole up to 7(–12) cm. long. Peduncle 2–16 cm. long, pubescent, few- to many-flowered; pedicels up to 1.5 cm. long; bracts ovate, minute. Sepals ovate, obtuse or minutely mucronate, 6–8 mm. long and 5–8 mm. wide, pilose. Corolla funnel-shaped, purple, 3–4.5 cm. long,sparsely pilose. Capsule globose, glabrous, 1.3 cm. in diameter. Seeds ovoid, 5 mm. long, 4.5 mm. wide, densely hairy; hairs 2.5 mm. long.
