Names

Information
Perennial; stems twining, glabrous but minutely muriculate. Leaf-blade round in outline, biternately or pedately or palmately 7–9-lobed, up to 3.5 cm. long and 5 cm. wide; lobes linear, ± acute and aristate or mucronulate, 2.5–3 cm. long and 2–3 mm. wide; petiole muriculate, 1.5–2.5 cm. long; pseudo-stipules present. Peduncle axillary, 1–few-flowered, 0.5–1 cm. long; pedicels up to 2–4 cm. long. Sepals suborbicular or elliptic, the inner larger, not noticeably gibbous at the base, 4–6.3 mm. long, 4 mm. wide, reflexed in fruit. Corolla pink or mauve, up to 7.5 em. long. Capsule globose, about 8 mm. in diameter. Seeds subglobose-trigonous, about 4 mm. in diameter, brown with adpressed pubescence and with long white hairs on the angles. Fig. 23, p. 124.
