Information
Glabrous herb, probably perennial; stems slender, twining. Leaf-blade orbicular in outline, palmately divided to the base, up to 5 cm. in diameter, often much less; lobes 5, elliptic, obtuse and apiculate, the outer ones often bilobed, 2.6–4 cm. long, about 1 cm. wide; petiole 4.5 cm. long; pseudo-stipules present. Flowers axillary, solitary or in 2–3-flowered inflorescences; peduncle 4.5 cm. long; pedicels slender 1.7 cm. long. Sepals elliptic or almost orbicular, 2–5 mm. long, 1.3–2.5 mm. wide, obtuse but mucronulate, often tuberculate. Corolla rose-purple or dark mauve, funnel-shaped, 8–17 mm. long. Capsule globose, 8 mm. in diameter. Seeds brown, subglobose, 4–5.5 mm. long, velvety-pubescent, the edges with long white cottony hairs 5–10 mm. long.
