Names
INDIGOFERA eremophila Thulin [family LEGUMINOSAE-PAPILIONOIDEAE], (1982). Fig. 218.
Information
Slender shrublet up to 0.5 m tall, silvery strigose throughout with appressed or somewhat spreading hairs; older stems with flaking epidermis, becoming purplish brown. Leaf-rhachis 5–14 mm long including a petiole of 3–9 mm. Leaflets 3–5, opposite, obovate, 4–9 x 2–5 mm. Racemes (5–)10–25-flowered, 1.5–8 cm long, including a peduncle of 0.2–1.2 cm. Calyx 2–2.5 mm long, divided to the middle. Standard pubescent outside. Stamens c. 5 mm long. Pod ascending, spreading or somewhat reflexed, straight, (7–)10–20 x 1.5–2.2 mm, strigose, (2–)4–8-seeded.

Notes
A variable species. The populations in N1–3 generally have very small leaves and a closely appressed indumentum. Plants from ± coastal dunes in C1 (e.g. Thulin & Abdi Dahir 6591, 6607) generally have short and few-flowered inflorescences and short (c. 7–10 mm long) pods.
