Information
Seeds dark brown, subglobose, 0.8–1.2 mm diameter; testa papillose, each papilla with a minutely wrinkled cuticle and 3–4 longitudinal narrow wing-like ribs (as in Fig. 1: 6, p. 4).

DISTR. U 1–4; K 1–7; T 1–8; P, Z widespread in tropical and southern Africa; Madagascar and Yemen

Notes
It has turned out that the seed structure is different in the type specimen of H. angustifolia from Mauritius, in lacking the typical cuticular folding that is found on the seeds of the African mainland plants (Fig. 1: 3 & 6, p. 4), and therefore is referred to a separate variety.
