Information
Shrubby herb or shrub, up to 1.5 m tall; stems hispid-pubescent with whitish or somewhat yellowish hairs. Leaves hispid-pubescent; petiole 2–12 mm long; blade ovate to elliptic or suborbicular, up to c. 3.5 x 2.5 cm, acute to rounded at the apex, with finely serrate-dentate margins. Flowers in leaf axils; pedicels 2–30 mm, articulated near the middle. Epicalyx bracts 7–9, 2–4 mm long, subulate. Calyx 5–8 mm long; lobes narrowly triangular, 1-nerved. Petals 10–15 mm long, pink or mauve; staminal tube 7–13 mm long, straight or slightly curved. Capsule c. 8 mm long, appressed puberulous. Seeds with a cottony floss.
