Information
shrubby, much branched; branches stellato-pubescent; leaves on short petioles, cuneate or obovato-cuneate, obtuse, crenato-dentate toward the point, stellato-pubescent on both sides; stipules ovate-cuspidate or broadly subulate; peduncles racemoso-paniculate, 2-flowered, spreading; bracts ovate-acute; calyx cup-shaped, albo-tomentose, 5-fid, the lobes deltoid; petals twice as long, the claws equalling the limb; filaments obovate, longer than the anthers; ovary oblong, tomentose. A rigid, much-branched, scrubby, sometimes prostrate bush, much resembling H. alnifolia in foliage; but with flowers twice as large as in that species. I cannot distinguish H. multiflora, Jacq. by any tangible characters. Flowers bright yellow.
