Information
Subshrub 0.4–1.2 m. tall; stems drying black, glabrous or with slight pubescence; internodes short. Leaf blades drying black above and usually yellow-green beneath or at least ± pale, 1–3.3 x 0.3–1.2 cm., narrowly ovate-elliptic, acute at the apex, cuneate at the base, glabrous or with few scattered hairs on midrib beneath; petiole about 1 mm. long or ± obsolete; stipule sheath pubescent, 1 mm. long with 3–5 fimbriae up to 5 mm. long. Inflorescence corymbiform with up to 100 flowers, 3.5–4 cm. across becoming 5 in fruit or with aggregate; inflorescence up to 8 cm. wide; peduncle 0–2.5 cm. long; secondary peduncles up to 1 cm. long; pedicels 0–1 mm. long; all axes shortly spreading pubescent. Calyx tube 0.8–1 mm. long; limb tube 0.2 mm.; lobes 0.5–1 mm. long. Corolla white, pale violet or mauve. Long-styled flowers: corolla tube 0.7–1 mm. long; lobes 1.8 mm. long; style 2–2.5 mm. long; filaments 0.2 mm. long. Short-styled flowers: corolla tube 1.8 mm. long; lobes 1.8 x 1.2 mm.; style 0.8–1.5 mm. long filaments 1.3–1.8 mm. long. Capsule 1–1.8 x 1.6–2 mm. including 0.9–1.2 mm. long beak.
