Information
Small tree or shrub up to 3(–10) m tall. Leaflets in (2–)3–4 pairs, obovate-oblanceolate, elliptic, obovate or almost round, 0.4–3.2 x 0.3–2 cm, rounded and emarginate at the apex. Fruit globose, 0.8–1 cm long.

Notes
Subsp. foliolosum is distributed in Tanzania, Zaire, Angola, Zambia, Mozambique and Zimbabwe, whereas subsp. strongylocarpum (Bullock) Verdc. is known from Ethiopia, East Africa, Rwanda, Central African Republic and Cameroon. The latter, with 4–7(–8) pairs of leaflets, may well occur also in Somalia.
