plant 1/2–1 1/2 ft. high, with large oblong tubers and stout densely leafy stems; leaves sessile, ovate-oblong or oblong, obtuse or subacute, rather fleshy, imbricate, 1–3 in. long, 1/3–1 in. broad, gradually decreasing upwards; racemes oblong, 2–6 in. long, very dense, many-flowered; bracts ovate or oblong-lanceolate, subacute, 1/2–1 in. long; pedicels 1–1 1/2 in. long; flowers rather large, green or green and white; dorsal sepal elliptic-ovate, obtuse, cucullate, 4 1/2–6 lin. long; lateral sepals obliquely semiovate, obtuse, concave, 4 1/2–6 lin. long; petals simple, very broadly ovate or orbicular-ovate, obtuse, about as long as the sepals, sometimes broader than long; lip linear-oblong, obtuse, very fleshy, revolute at the margin, 5–7 lin. long, with a pair of short slender lateral teeth near the base; spur 1–1 1/4 in. long, slender below, clavate at the apex; column about 2 1/2 lin. long, obtuse; side lobes of rostellum short and broad; stigmas oblong, very broad and short. null
