plant 1/2–1 1/4 ft. high; leaves 2, radical, sessile, broadly cordate-orbicular, apiculate, horizontally spreading, fleshy, 1–1 3/4 in. long, 1–2 in. broad; scapes 1/2–1 1/4 ft. high, with numerous lanceolate very acuminate free sheaths; racemes oblong, 1 1/2–4 in. long, dense, many-flowered; bracts lanceolate or oblong-lanceolate, acuminate, 1/3– 1/2 in. long; pedicels about 1/3 in. long; flowers green; dorsal sepal ovate, subacute, 2–2 1/2 lin. long; lateral sepals obliquely semiovate-oblong, acuminate, 2 1/2–3 lin. long; petals 2-partite; upper lobe falcate-oblong, acute, obscurely serrulate, three-quarters as long as the dorsal sepal; lower lobe diverging, linear, subacute, about a third as long as the upper lobe; lip 3-partite, with obscurely hispidulous lobes; front lobe linear-oblong, subacute, 2–2 1/2 lin. long; side lobes diverging, linear or filiform, subobtuse, often shorter than the front lobe; spur 4–4 1/2 lin. long, slender below, clavate above; column very broad, obtuse, 3/4 lin. long; side lobes of rostellum 1/2 lin. long; stigmas oblong, about 1 lin. long; capsule oblong, 4–5 lin. long. null
