plant 3/4–2 1/2 ft. high, with stout leafy stems, and 2–3 short sheaths below; leaves sessile, oblong or elliptic-oblong, subobtuse or acute, submembranous, 2–4 1/2 in. long, gradually decreasing upwards; racemes 4–8 in. long, somewhat dense and many-flowered; bracts oblong-lanceolate or ovate-lanceolate, acuminate, 1–1 1/2 in. long; pedicels 1 1/4–2 in. long; flowers green and white or yellow; dorsal sepal elliptic-ovate, subobtuse, 5–6 lin. long; lateral sepals obliquely falcate-obovate, apiculate, 6–7 lin. long; petals 2-partite; upper lobe linear, 5–6 lin. long; lower lobe subfiliform, falcately curved, much stouter than the upper lobe and twice as long; lip 3-partite; lobes narrowly linear, curved, somewhat stouter below, 1/2– 3/4 lin. long; spur 1 1/4–1 1/2 in. long, filiform below, clavate above; column 1/4 in. long, apiculate; side lobes of rostellum 5–6 lin. long; stigmas 5–6 lin. long, capitate. null
