Information
Shrub or tree to 10(–12) m high, usually with contorted trunks; bark grey, fissured in older trees. Leaves including petiole 6–10 cm long, usually on dwarf shoots, rhachis narrowly winged; leaflets in 1 or 2 pairs, elliptic, the terminal pair usually much larger than the basal pair, 3–6.5(–8) x 1.5–2.5(–3.5) cm, glabrous, obtuse or emarginate at the apex, asymmetrically cuneate at the base. Flowers often produced before the leaves, in dense clusters, greenish cream; sepals 1.5–2 mm long. Fruit yellow to orange red, at first triangular in cross-section, ultimately ellipsoid, 10–20 mm long. Seed c. 10 x 6 mm.
