Aforesttree, 40–110 ft. high, with heavy dark green foliage; bark whitish or yellowish, fissured; slash pale yellow, strongly scented; flowers white or yellowish; fruit a yellow fleshy capsule with 4–5 seeds;often gregarious, especially in moist places.
