Information
Shrub or tree, up to 5(–10) m high; young branches ferruginously pubescent, older parts grey to dirty white, glabrous, with pale white lenticels. Leaves glossy green and glabrous or almost so above, white tomentose beneath; petiole 2–5 mm long; blade elliptic-oblong to obovate, 3.5–8(–19.5) x 2–4(–12.5) cm, rounded to acute at the apex, asymmetrical at the base, with crenate to serrate margin. Inflorescences axillary, solitary, with 3 flowers, 2–3 cm long, pubescent; peduncle 4–10 mm long; pedicel 4–10 mm long. Sepals elliptic, (12–)13–14 mm long. Petals yellow, obovate to broadly elliptic, 7–8 x 3.5–4 mm, with or without nectar-producing claw. Ovary 2-celled with 5–6 ovules in each cell; style 8–9 mm long with 4–5 broad stigma-lobes; androgynophore 0.5–1.5 mm long. Fruit 2-lobed or unlobed by abortion, each lobe 8.5–10(–12) mm in diam.; stone reticulate.
