Shrub up to 3 m tall. Leaves deeply 3–5-lobed, the middle lobe longer than wide, usually broadest at the base. Calyx c. 10 mm long, subentire to toothed. Corolla longer than epicalyx. Seeds without fuzz except for a tuft at one end, easily separated from the lint.
Range
Sometimes cultivated at least in N2, S2 and S3 originally from America, now widely cultivated in all tropics and subtropics.
