Information
Shrub or small tree 1.5–15(–20) m tall with grey-brown bark and slash orange, red beneath. Leaves ± subcoriaceous, elliptic to oblong-elliptic or oblong, 4–20 cm long, 2–7 cm wide, narrowed to a bluntly acute or obtuse apex or more rounded, cuneate or ± rounded at the base, distinctly or shallowly and inconspicuously serrulate or ± subentire; lateral veins 13–20 each side, the ultimate venation either with very numerous and very close parallel veinlets or with few of these or more openly reticulate with scarcely any; petiole 5–10 mm long; stipules narrowly triangular, 3 mm long, striate. Inflorescences lax, the axes subsimple and racemiform, 3–15 cm long with peduncle etc. flattened; pedicels 6–11 mm long, jointed at base. Sepals elliptic, 3.5–5.5 mm long, 1.5–4 mm wide. Petals bright yellow, oblanceolate-oblong to broadly obovate, 4.5–10 mm long, 1.5–6 mm wide, obtuse to broadly rounded or retuse at the apex. Anthers orange, 2.5–5 mm long. Drupelets red, (1–)2(–5?), obovoid, 7 mm long, 6 mm wide (probably black when ripe).
