Information
corm middle-sized, globose; tunics of parallel strands of fine matted fibres; produced subbasal leaves about 4, ensiform, glabrous, rigid in texture, 1–1 1/2 ft. long, 3/4–1 in. broad at the middle; stem 2–3 ft. long including the inflorescence; flowers pale purple, 6–12 in a lax spike; spathe-valves oblong-navicular, cuspidate, the outer 1–1 1/2 in. long; perianth horizontal; tube curved, 1/4 in. long, broadly funnel-shaped in the upper half; limb 1 1/4–1 1/2 in. long; 3 upper segments obovate-spathulate, 1/2– 3/4 in. broad, upper not reflexing; 3 lower oblong unguiculate, with a large reddish spade-shaped blotch edged with yellow at the throat; stamens reaching halfway up the limb. null
