Information
corm globose, 3/4–1 in. diam.; tunics of fine parallel strands of matted fibres; flowering stem simple, 1–1 1/2 ft. long, with 3–4 superposed leaves with glabrous sheaths, and short, free, rigid, linear points, or rarely the lowest leaf with a longer point; flowers 6–8, in a lax spike; outer spathe-valve green, oblong-lanceolate, 1/2 in. long; perianth-tube curved, 1/2 in. long, broadly funnel-shaped in the upper half; segments white, with a red keel outside, obscurely cuspidate, 1/2– 5/8 in. long; upper obovate, 1/3 in. broad; lower oblong, distinctly unguiculate; stamens reaching halfway up the limb. null
