Annual, erect or ascending, pubescent with short hairs and longer often glandular hairs. Leaves long-petiolate; blade usually 5-lobed, divided to about two-thirds of the radius; lobes 4–15 mm wide at the base, obovate, pinnatifid in upper part, pubescent. Inflorescences (1–)2-flowered; peduncle 0–5 cm long; lower flowers often cleistogamous; pedicels 2–25 mm long, glandular hairy. Sepals narrowly ovate, to 10 mm long in fruit, mucronate. Petals 6–10 mm long, mauve or pink with dark purple centre. Mericarps 4–6 mm long, with revolute toothed wings along the edges; mature beak 8–13 mm long. Seeds 2–3 mm long, minutely reticulate, brownish.
