Information
Perennial herb; stems decumbent, pilose or pubescent. Leaf-lamina 5-lobed, divided to less than 3/4 lobes 2–6 mm. across at base, obovate in outline, pinnatilobed to pinnatipartite, coarsely pubescent on both the upper and lower surfaces; petiole 0·5–16 cm. long, longitudinally furrowed, pilose or pubescent; stipules 4–7 mm. long, entire, ovate-lanceolate, acuminate, pubescent. Inflorescence 1-flowered; peduncle 3–4 cm. long, pubescent or pilose; pedicels 1–3 cm. long, pubescent; bracts 3–5 mm. long, narrowly lanceolate, acute, pubescent. Sepals 6–8 × 2–3 mm., ovate to elliptic, mucronate, pubescent. Petals about 10 × 5 mm., obovate, retuse at the apex, pale pink. Stamens 10; filaments about 5 mm. long, narrowly lanceolate, pubescent towards the base; anthers dark purple. Ovary tomentose; stigmas 5, pink. Cocci smooth, pilose; mature rostrum 15–17 × 1·5 mm., pubescent; stigmas 2–2·5 mm. long. Seeds glabrous; testa covered with a shallow reticulate pattern.
Habitat
Borders of woodland, amongst scrub and in grassland.
Range
Known only from Mt. Mlanje.

Notes
Closely related to the widespread Geranium arabicum Forsk. It should be noted that the latter species occurs also on Mt. Mlanje.
