Information
Rostrum densely hairy, without glands.
Range
Known only from Mt. Malosa and Zomba Mountain.

Notes
Knuth (torn. cit.: 202 (1912)) states that G. whytei is distinguished from G. vagans by the presence of an elongated middle segment of each lobe of the leaf. A comparison of a large amount of material shows that this character cannot be used as a means of differentiation since plants from the Nyika and Tanganyika show much variation in the length of the middle segment and specimens with segments intermediate in length occur. However, the different type of indumentum on the rostrum of the plants from Malosa and Zomba indicates that geographical differentiation has taken place, and G. whytei can be regarded as a subspecies.
