GEOPHILA lancistipula Hiern [family RUBIACEAE]
Information
Step creeping, rooting at the nodes, glabrous. Leaves reniform, nearly rounded at the apex, deeply cordate at the base, thinly chartaceous, glabrous, rather paler beneath, 1 1/2–2 in. long; petiole 1 1/2–3 in. long, glabrous or somewhat hairy; stipules geminate or bipartite, lanceolate, 1/8 in. long. Flowers solitary, bracteate at the base, 1/2 in. long; bracts subulate; peduncle 1/3– 3/4 in. long, bracteate about the middle, lateral from the prostrate stems. Calyx 1/6 in. long, somewhat hairy; lobes subulate, persistent. Corolla white; lobes ovate-lanceolate. Anthers included. Fruit ovoid, 2/5 in. long.
