Information
Scrambling herb forming loose tufts, but individual stems weak and mostly elongate, up to 35 cm. long, without hairs but usually with weak downwardly directed prickles. Leaves and stipules in whorls of 6; leaf-blades linear-oblanceolate to obovate-oblanceolate, (3–)5.5–9 mm. long, 1–1.4 mm. wide, acuminate at the apex and often ending in a long point, the margins with short forwardly directed hairs or weak prickles and the upper surface ± glabrous to covered with short forwardly directed hairs, with some backwardly directed prickles on the midrib beneath, or rarely entirely glabrous. Inflorescences 1–3-flowered; peduncle or reduced peduncle-like slender side branches with reduced leaves up to 2 mm. long; pedicels 2.5–4 mm. long. Calyx-tube half-ellipsoid, 0.5–0.7 mm. long, glabrous. Corolla white; tube 0.4 mm. long; lobes triangular to ovate, 0.5–1 mm. long, 0.5–0.8 mm. wide. Fruits with rounded or ellipsoid cocci 1.5–3 mm. long and wide, reticulate when dry.
