Information
Annual or perennial herb to 50 cm, sparsely branched; stems ribbed, finely pubescent. Leaves entire, sessile, narrowly obovate to lanceolate, 2–9 cm long and 0.4–1 cm wide, the base attenuate and subauriculate, margins dentate, apex acute or obtuse, sparsely scabrid-puberulous on both surfaces. Capitula 2–3 mm long, few together in cymes, these in turn united in sparsely branched terminal leafy corymbs; stalks of individual capitula 1–5 mm long, pilose; phyllaries subequal, lanceolate, 1.5–2 mm long, 0.2–0.5 mm wide, acute, pilose, ciliate; receptacle convex. Female outer florets pale yellow, 20–25, 3-seriate, tube 0.7–0.8 mm long, with 4 minute teeth 0.1–0.2 mm long; style 1–1.1 mm long with short branches; central florets yellow, 15–25, tube 1–1.3 mm long, lobes 0.5–0.6 mm long; anthers 0.7–0.8 mm long, with obtuse triangular appendages; style 1.6–1.7 mm long with short branches, with short triangular appendages. Achenes subcylindrical or slightly flattened, 0.5–1 mm long, sparsely pilose. Fig. 95 (page 463).
