Information
Annual, more or less erect, up to 40 cm or more tall; stems scabrid with recurved prickles along the angles. Leaves in whorls of 6–10; blades linear-lanceolate, 8–15 x 0.5–2 mm, acuminate and awned at the apex, margins scabrid with forwardly directed hairs. Cymes very lax, with lanceolate bracts; pedicels 3–15(–20) mm long, filiform. Corolla yellowish, 1–2 mm in diam. Mericarps reniform, c. 1 mm long, finely papillose.
Range
N1 SE Europe, SW Asia and eastwards to N India.
